JANUARY:<\/strong> Benjamin Franklin<\/a> (1706-1790) discovered that lightning is a form of electricity and invented the lightning rod.<\/p>\n

February<\/strong>: Nikola Tesla<\/a> (1856-1943) Engineer and inventor who discovered alternating current and developed the electrical distribution system based on it.<\/p>\n

MARCH:<\/strong> Edith Clarke<\/a> (1883-1959) discovered pioneering methods for the analysis of electrical energy systems.<\/p>\n

APRIL:<\/strong> Thomas Alva Edison<\/a> (1847-1931) invented the light bulb in 1879, an advance that enabled the practical use of electric lighting.<\/p>\n

MAY:<\/strong> George Westinghouse<\/a> (1846-1914) promoted the alternating current system and transformers for long-distance electricity.<\/p>\n

JUNE:<\/strong> Maria Telkes<\/a> (1900-1995) discoverer of pioneering technologies in solar energy, such as the first solar heating system for homes.<\/p>\n

JULIO:<\/strong> Georg Simon Ohm<\/a> (1789-1854) who established the relationship between voltage, current and resistance in an electrical circuit.<\/p>\n

AUGUST:<\/strong> Heinrich Rudolf Hertz<\/a> (1857-1894) discovered the existence of electromagnetic waves.<\/p>\n

SEPTEMBER:<\/strong> Alessandro Volta<\/a> (1745-1827) discovered the electric pile, the first source of direct current.<\/p>\n
