New IoT VDSmart Connect gateway for VD and LS Electric inverters

Vector Energy adds to the frequency converters VD y LS Electric The solution VDSmart Connect, an easy-to-install, plug-and-play IoT gateway that enables the remote monitoring and control of up to 8 devices.

VDSmart Connect allows the visualization in a web browser of the most important information about the process values of each monitored variator, showing the status of the inputs and outputs, the history of faults, and the graphical representation of the evolution of the variator’s main values such as voltage, speed, or output intensity. Through VDSmart it is possible to perform a remote fault reset, change the configuration, or view errors after receiving an alert via SMS without being physically present next to the equipment.

The design of VDSmart is compact and functional, with easy and quick plug & play installation, mounting on a DIN rail, and two different models, depending on the power supply: 230Vac or 24Vdc. Communication between VDSmart and the inverter is done via ModbusRTU (Ethernet) or via the web. The connection to VDSmart using a web browser can be via WiFi, generated by VDSmart itself, or via Ethernet cable. There is also the possibility of data transmission using the integrated MQTT protocol via GPRS using a SIM card.

All these features make VDSmart a very suitable solution for adding functionality and improving the performance of a wide range of applications that use frequency inverters, from traditional pumping stations or solar pumping in the agricultural sector to automated plants and industrial manufacturing environments.
