HOW TO REDUCE DISTURBANCES?

How to reduce the disturbances generated by frequency converters?
Speed variators generate two main types of disturbances in the installation: harmonic distortion (originating from the rectifier bridge) and electrical noise (radiated or conducted, produced by the inverter bridge).

  • Harmonic distortion: The INV inductances reduce the current harmonics that the converter injects into the network and on the other hand limit the switching transformer's connection current and protect it against overvoltage and micro-faults in the network.
  • Electrical noise: EMC/RFI input filters reduce conducted electrical noise, while shock ferrites and LC filters are responsible for reducing emissions between the inverter and the motor.

For more information, see the VMC guide for optimizing the installation of frequency converters using inductances and filters.
