Vector Energy has signed an agreement with City Council of Santa Perpètua de Mogoda to conduct a pilot test of its innovative battery-based energy storage system (BESS), SUNVEC Storage, At the photovoltaic installation of the Municipal Football Center.
This project marks the first implementation of the BESS system in a real environment, outside the laboratory, which will allow optimizing the performance of this technology. The goal is to reduce energy consumption and operational costs of sports facilities, as well as decrease their dependence on the electric grid. The system will store the surplus energy from solar panels to be used during times of high demand, especially in the evening and nighttime when there is no photovoltaic production.
The agreement was signed by the mayor of Santa Perpètua de Mogoda, Isabel Garcia, and the CEO of Vector Energy, Ivan Olivares, At an event that also saw the presence of the councillor for Climate Change and Energy Transition, Sergi Hernández, the technical director of Vector, Ricardo Molina, and the BESS product manager, Eduard Sanz.

Sergi Hernández, Councillor for Climate Change, positively assessed the solution offered by Vector Energy: “The generation of photovoltaic energy does not always coincide with the peak consumption time. Therefore, it is essential to have storage systems that allow the energy to be used when it is really needed, such as in football fields, which concentrate its use in the afternoons and evenings”.
The BESS system SUNVEC Storage It will allow storing the surplus solar energy produced during the day, ensuring its availability during peak demand hours, which will improve the energy efficiency of the installation and reduce the carbon footprint.
Ivan Olivares, CEO of Vector Energy, highlighted the City Council's interest in promoting renewable energy projects: “It is an honor that the first team of our new batteries comes from our factory and begins its implementation in Santa Perpètua. This project reinforces our commitment to the municipality and to a sustainable future”.
For his part, the president of the Unión Club de Fútbol (UCF), Francisco Torres, He thanked the initiative and emphasized the importance of this project for the club: “In addition to reducing energy consumption, this project will raise awareness among more than 500 club families about the importance of renewable energy and the efficient use of resources.”.

With this agreement, Vector Energy reaffirms its leadership in energy storage solutions and its commitment to sustainability. The implementation of the BESS system at the Santa Perpètua Municipal Football Centre will not only improve the energy efficiency of the facilities, but will also serve as a benchmark for future projects in the sports sector.
